I started using merino for the first time this year. I am using stoic and core4element and I have found the same smell when I sweat or get wet. I think I'll go back to synthetics. I started using merino because all the reviews stated that it is better for scent suppression. I also used a...
Very True, just thought I would see if anyone has dealt with the website. I am tempted as I know paypal is good about protecting its members and I use lifelock, but I don't want to if its been tried already.
I was online looking for some new binos and I came across the Zeiss Conquest Hd's for $250. I am skeptical to give any info to the website because the price is rediculous. Has anyone came across knockoffs online? The website is Rock Th and claims to sell at wholesale prices. They accept paypal...
Nothing better than drinking hot coffee watching a big muley/elk through a spotting scope. Plus caffeine allows you to push yourself harder for longer when your playing "elkerobics" or making that 1000 ft ascent on the far ridge for a stalk. I'll sacrifice the ounce.
I have the Lowa Timoks and Lowa Hunters and love them. The Timoks are similar to the Tibets, but have a cordura tongue for breathability. I bought them just last month for $150. Lowa uses polyurethane midsoles so they last longer than an EVA midsole which Kenetrek boots have and most of meindl's...
It says it holds up to 3.3 lbs, I think the Zeiss 85mm is just under that. I use a 60mm spotter. I do use 3 lb 20x binoculars on it and it holds up fine. I'll try to get a pic with my setup.
Here's a pic I found online. Its the one on the left.
Sunpak Travel Lite, weighs 2.1 lbs, 14.6" closed and 56.5 extended. It has a three way pan head that is suprisingly smooth. Everything on the head is metal so you don't get that jerky movement when you are scanning. Very little plastic, so its pretty stout. Best part is it cost me $25.
I have one and have used them since the Marine Corps issued them. They are a little heavier than most hunting packs. The material is a little noisy in heavy brush. They are a durable pack and can handle a heavy load as good as any internal framed pack I've worn. I think it carries a heavy load...
I use dry wipes that you add water to and they expand. It beats carring heavy baby wipes arounds to wipe yourself down. Its impossible to completely cover the human scent, but I do wash my clothes in scent free laundry soap and store them in a plastic bag. I used to store sage brush in the bag...
