Free Zeiss Conquest 15x56 when you purchase S5 Scope

Outdoorsman’s advertised a free pair of binos with purchase of a rifle scope. If you’re in the market for this type of scope, the free binocular deal is interesting. https://outdoorsmans.com/collections/zeiss-lrp-s5-free-conquest-15s

I’m going to buy another pair of these when they go on sale again. https://www.danner.com/thorofare-10-sage.html

    Kowa Spotter Lens Caps

I have the 99 mm objective, which uses the 105 mm filter. The 77 mm objective should use an 82 mm filter as I linked. Call camera land and confirm. They are a Kowa dealer and can verify.

    Alice Pack

I’ve carried hundred + loads many miles with an alice frame. I remember when we were issued the curved shoulder straps, revolutionary technology 🤓

    Kowa Spotter Lens Caps

I’m new to Kowa spotting scopes. I purchased a “filter” from Camera Land and threaded it on the objective. With the neoprene “stay-on” case, I don’t plan on taking the objective lens cap in to the field. The filters are expensive, but I figure they provide an extra level of protection for the...

Wiser Precision BA-7 Sparrow bino adapter.

I ordered the Wiser BA-7 last week. On my EL 12x50s I have the Outdoorsman stud, but prefer the RRS poly Cinch. I’m looking forward to the BA-7.

Hunting tripod for shooting with the possibility to swap the head for a camera rest?

If avoiding China made tripods is important to you, RRS and Outdoorsmans are made in USA. Slik is made in Maylasia. Almost everything else I’ve seen is made in China. The RRS system with the Anvil head is pretty much the ultimate shooting system. You can certainly put a spotter, binos or a...

RRS PT Scout BTC-Pro vs Wiser Precision Nighthawk

Tricer doesn’t own a factory, they just import from China. A warranty from them would be pretty worthless long term. As long as there are good alternatives I’ll try to keep my dollars in the USA.

    Best Puffy?

I only have the vest right now, so I wouldn’t have a fair comparison. The wool is not as lofty as down, so I think the warmth to weight ratio would favor down. All the down clothing I have rely on baffles to hold the down in place. The woolcloud doesn’t use baffles or quilting. It lays similar...

RRS PT Scout BTC-Pro vs Wiser Precision Nighthawk

I was ready to pull the trigger on an RRS Scout Head and ended up ordering a Wiser Head. I also ordered their binoculars strap/mount. Thanks for everyone who posted their feedback in this thread.

Danner Boots still a good brand?

I had great luck with Danner Thorofares, they are a true Mountain Boot. I’m going to buy another pair when there is a sale. I wrote a reveiw a few years ago. https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/danner-thorofare-review.147342/ The only downside I have with the Thorofare is that there is not a...

Best bino magnification range for mule deer

If you don’t already have a tripod, I highly recommend getting your binos on a good tripod. I found my glassing improved dramatically even with my 8x42s from a Granite Peak tripod. https://kramerdesignscorp.com/pages/granite-peak-tripod My primary binoculars are now Swaro EL12x50s, which are...

    Best Puffy?

I received an Origin jacket for Christmas and I love it. https://originusa.com/products/field-explorernovaloc-insulated-parka-origin-raptor-highland-camo?variant=46404262854934 My wife and I both have “Woolcloud” vests from Duckworth and we love them, I would not discount merino wool as a...

BLM to open 22 mil acres in Western states to solar

This whole public land giveaway disgusts me. All these solar companies are being subsidized by our tax dollars. 100% of the panels are from China. If you have OnX or another land view app, look at the images. 33.69932, -115.22241 33.82097, -115.38947 33.69887, -114.76187
