I would hunt on the PAcific crest trail if I were you. It’s a hike in but there is plenty of water back there and once you get there easy hiking. Problem is after day two the places is blown out and the elk get very shy

I was pretty bummed to find out he didn't process it as well. He has it in his fridge now thawing out so hopefully that doesn't stay in there for long.

Last October my buddy got a pretty decent deer in Idaho. He quartered the deer and froze it in his game bags. No plastic no butcher paper just game bags. He thinks the deer is going to be fine to eat. Im skeptical. What do you guys think?
I hunt a unit to the west of 50. Most of the elk I see the last week of October/first week of November are at 6000-7500 scattered in small herds.
