Moving the muzzleloader season to first rifle would be fine if you only want to hunt elk. I mostly hunt deer and would not put in for muzzleloader season anymore if it's the first week of October.

I got this little guy on a leftover tag. There wasn't much public land in this unit and not many antelope. I only saw 2 herds and this buck by himself. I missed a little bit bigger buck that was really cool and wide. Great tasting steaks on this guy so far.
I have the tikka in 270 wsm. I am not a great rifle shot but can get good groups out to 500 yards, which is as far as I've tried. So far my gun has killed 2 aoudad at about 100 yards and it made a fist sized hole in both. Downside is 50 dollars for a box of shells.
Pick up the leftover archery tag for unit 29 it is less than an hour from brighton, not sure how the hunting would be or how access would be but at least its close and all of CO has the potential to have big bucks. It also borders unit 20 where RMNP is so maybe some park bucks wander into 29.
I could add a thermarest z light pad for around 40 and still be under 1500 or add a bushnell backtrack gps for about 10 over budget which might be nice for someone new to backpacking.

I want to take a mule deer buck in every state with a combo of bow, different rifles, handgun, muzzy, shotgun and spear. Also to travel the world and hunt as many wild deer as possible. Plus the NA deer slam with muzzleloader including Brockett since they are NA deer even though nobody includes...
Just got the spring issue last night. The layout of the whole issue looks really good. I've read every issue front to back and this one looks like it has even more content. I'm sure I'll have read the whole issue by the end of my shift tomorrow. The only thing I would change about the magazine...
You can park at coors field and take a free shuttle to the expo. Its alot easier than trying to mess with downtown traffic and parking garages if you have a big truck.
