I'm really leaning towards these arrows but I just can't stomach an outsert. I'm thinking that I could install an Easton deep 6 HIT insert and that would help to reinforce the shaft of the arrow just behind the outsert. Good idea? Bad idea? Overkill?
I'm looking for input on the Black Eagle Instinct outsert/collar system and am having difficulty finding any reviews online. Is this an insert/outsert combo or just a collar that fits over the shaft? I had an issue with Carbon Express Kinetic Pierce Platinum outsert breaking on upon impacting...
Best advice I can give is to get some 600 spine arrows and fletch them up with 5" feathers or even flu-flu. Worry about tuning the arrows to you bow after you've developed a clean and reliable form. If you're trying to bare shaft tune with shitty form, you're going to get way too frustrated...
Every few years I pick up my recurve, ultimately deciding not to hunt with it. 2020 was the perfect year to pick up my Bear Grizzly again and get to practicing. So on December 8th I started shooting again and made a promise to myself that I would shoot every single day. Even if I only had time...
Pay attention to CD archery on December 24th. They’re releasing a new ILF riser and it is just incredible. I got really lucky and was at the archery shop when Calvin Smock showed up and he let me shoot his new design. I took 3 shots at 20 yards, two were in the 9 ring and one in the 8 ring. I’m...
I just picked up a 35# Obert Black Hunter from Amazon. I have every spine of the Gold Tip Traditional arrows and couldn’t get any of those traditionals to fly good. I tried every point weight/spine combination. Beat results I got was the 400 spine with 250 grain point. But that was just too...
If you have difficulty finding the arrow you want, check out Vector Custom Shop. I just purchased a 1/2 dozen from them and they're great to work with. https://vectorcustomshop.com/
I shopped for bows last year to replace my 2008 Mathews DXT. In the process I shot everything I could get my hands on. I was looking for a really efficient bow and great shootability. Two bows that I liked the most were the Mathews Halon 32 (6" brace height) and the Elite Ritual 33. Those...
Directly from the website. I got the Doghouse FP Plus Series for $109.94 shipped. After I clicked the “buy” button they offered me an additional target for $85, but that offer was only good for 5 minutes. If you order, I’d have a friend lined up who also wants a target. Because why on earth...
That whole elk target setup gave me a good chuckle! Very creative.
My plan is to build a roof with a pallet base so I can move it around with my tractor pallet forks.
I’ve worn out my shooting bag and it’s time to replace it with something. I’m wanting a rather large target so I can practice out to 80 yards without losing arrows. Ideally I’d want a couple of Curlex wood fiber archery bales, but shipping for two is $270, which would bring the total to $370...
