    Knee pain

If you guys have sore patella tendons, stretch your hamstrings and heels cords well and regularly. I had tendonitis years ago and my orthopedic surgeon drew a diagram and showed me that when your hamstrings are tight, your leg doesn't fully extend with each step, and that puts more stress on...

    2013 Elk Meatpole

Colorado Muzzleloader bull. This one responded to the bugle and came in to 15 yards.

    6.5-06 or 338-06 build

Don't know if you chose your gunsmith yet, but another alternative is to ship your barreled action to a barrel maker that will chamber and install your barrel. I had my 6.5-06 AI done by Pacnor, and it's prabably my most accurate rifle. WIth turnkey, you essentially eliminate a step so...

    Anyone use an elevation mask?

The training mask won't help with elevation. It may help work out the muscles you use to breath like your diaphragm, but that's about it. If you read the literature for any of the products that restrict your breathing, you'll see that the makers are very careful to avoid claiming any benefits...

    Best all around caliber?

There's some good advice here but Chuck Hawks apparently has no business evaluating "Ultra long range" or "long range" rifles. If he's talking about selecting a cartridge for the average hunter who is not going to go beyond MPBR that's one thing, but anyone who would evaluate and discuss "ultra...

    Any 264wm guys out there?

Oops, sorry, didn't notice that "he" was you. To answer your question, it's an action I would modify at will. Make it into what you want.

    Any 264wm guys out there?

If this is a pre-64 it would be worth trying to salvage the barrel if nothing else for resale value. I thought he said it was a '65 though.

    Any 264wm guys out there?

I'd agree, and thre are 160's you can use if you really want to, like Woodleighs.

What does "DIY" mean to you?

+1. And I'm just curious as to whether any of the posters have connections to guiding services or similar services that are paid for relating to hunting?

    270 wsm update test

Don't know on the primers. Just FYI, a 5 mph difference in wind at 300 yards can cause about a 3-inch difference in POI with your set-up. Also, smarter guys than me have said that the "normal" pressure indicators that you can see or feel like ejecor slot marks on the case head or hard bolt...

    270 wsm update test

How does the load shoot at 100 yards, and what was the wind doing? What's the rifle and what's the barrel contour? Is the action bedded?

7mm STW build in progress... Budget LR Hunting Rifle Phase I

I enjoy the process too, but I load for a bunch of different rifles and I don't shoot competitively so I don't need to squeeze that last little bit of accuracy out of my loads. I try to limit the operations I use to those that make a difference in the level of accuracy I need; if I can get a...

7mm STW build in progress... Budget LR Hunting Rifle Phase I

I hear you, I tend towards good quality brass and bushing dies too. But I guess my question was more along the lines of whether you had actually observed any fall off in accuracy with the 0.2 grain spread in charge weight? I'm assuming we're talking big-game rifles?
