I have a CTR in 308 I shoot with a suppressor. It moves the point of impact about 1 1/2 down at 100 yards versus shooting without it, but I saw no change in accuracy. …and it’s way more pleasant to shoot with the suppressor
Very different cans. The GP7 is all steel, and direct thread. Cheaper and lighter.
The R2 has an inconel blast baffle, which is better if you plan to full auto the hell out of it, and it has changeable back end so you can adapt it to a number of different muzzle devices.
If you just want to...
Put in a paper form 4 individual in May of 21, just picked it up last week. 13 months. Took almost a month from when atf said it was approved until the dealer got the stamp.
my first one in 2007 took 2 months and I thought that was FOREVER.
Finally got my gp7 after a fun filled 13 month wait. Love it!
i shot it on a Ruger American Ranch I have in 7.62x39 and it hit about 2” below and dead center at 100 yards versus shooting with it off.
I also shot it on a 10.3” 300 blackout rifle with subs and supers. Cycled fine, again, poi...
I think the ammo is the problem. American Eagle isn’t exactly engineered for accuracy. My tikka 308 shoots under an Moa with good ammo and about 4” at 100 yards with burner ammo like AE.
Did the recoil feel different? I’ve gotten wildly inaccurate numbers from my standard chrono because the light wasn’t right, or the battery was low. If they’re hitting in the same place at 100:yards, they’re not 1000 FPS different,
Magnetospeed is awesome. Works indoors, never missed a shot shooting from a 308 bolt gun and an ar. It provides some very useful info. The data I had for my 308 was 100 FPS slower than actual. Having the right velocity makes calculating your point of impact at long range much more accurate.
..and everybody knows a forearm is much safer if it comes in more than one box. :)
I built one a while ago. It was an interesting project, but I’m not sure I’d do it again. I think I messed something up when I was drilling out the channel for the recoil spring and it never would run a hundred...
Quality rings are important and not that expensive. I’m not familiar with those particular rings, but I have played with some other utg stuff. Seems like they use lower quality materials, softer aluminum, etc.
I’ve had cheap rings come apart in the middle of a competition that cost me more than...
