    TIkka 300WM and C6?

    I am looking at mod my Tikka 300WM with a Carbon Barrel, so I can shoot suppressed and have a decent backcountry setup. Any advice on the barrel? You happy with the C6? I am looking at a 20 or 22", probably 5R and a 1:8 twist. Thoughts?

    Any insight is appreciated.

    I went with a 24” sendero with a 1:10 twist. The twist rate is my one regret on the barrel. I agree with you, a 1:8 or 1:9 would be better. But if your going for those heavy for caliber bullets, you may have to look at changing out youbottom metal to allow for longer bullets. You may have already done this.

    This is probably my only complaint for the Tikka, the action isn’t long enough for seating bullets out to 3.6”. The Tikka mag only allows for 3.38”. I changed to a Red Snake bottom metal. Way overpriced in my opinion for what you get, but it does allow me to use an AIS mag and seat bullets to 3.5”.

    I haven’t shot mine suppressed yet, but if that’s your goal then I would go with a 20” barrel.
