    Elk101.... Worth it?

I bought the elk collective a few weeks ago right now it’s like 30% off so I figured I’d try it. It’s all video based but it’s been pretty awesome because you get a lot of different strategies from the ElkNut to Joel turner to Phelps and dirk durham. Plus you get video archery training from Joel...

    Idaho 41-1

I’ve had one of the January cow tags in this area the last few years. From talking with people who know the area better a lot of the resident elk live in the canyon bottoms. Walking along the rim and glassing down into the canyons has helped me locate a few groups in my time there.

    Lanky Lefty Bow Recommendations

I’m a lefty with a 31.5 inch draw length. I definitely feel your pain of trying to find a bow. I am currently using a pse evolve 35 and it has been great for me but the Mathews atlas has stood out as a great option

    Recommend Me a Used Bow

I picked up a 2018 pse evolve 35 a couple months ago. I have loved it so far and would recommend it if you can find one It can accommodate your draw length and I got mine under 500

ISO_Alpha-Class Archery Elk Pants_MUST be QUIET

If you don’t need the camo colors the prana stretch Zion pants are amazing. They are extremely quiet and held up really well through last season. They don’t have the thigh vents but they’re thin enough I didn’t miss them I also have the kings preacher pants that would check most of your boxes...

    New Mexico area 16

I fought fire around unit 16 back in the day. There was a really good Mexican restarting in Luna called Ellas cafe. Seriously good food you should eat there while you’re out there

    2021 Rokslide Cold Bow Challenge

Last year I missed a bull that was standing at 38 yards which I thought was within my range. Since then I changed my bow, arrows and have not been out shooting much. To boost my confidence I chose to do 40 yards for this years challenge. Shooting a pse evolve 35 set at 31.5 inches and 72 pounds...

Don’t forget to nock an arrow

I did this a few years back when I was just getting into archery. I had a deer walk right in front of me at about twenty yards. Out of instinct I drew back settled my pin perfectly hit my release and my bow blew up. The worst part is walking into the archery shop with the pieces of bow in my hand.

Elk of North America: Ecology & Management

I read it as well and didn’t feel like it was as amazing as it’s made out to be but it did have good info. I went to my library and they were able to bring in a copy to check out. Much cheaper than the $400 price tag.

Elk Of North America : Ecology And Management

Packing clothing for early season elk hunt!

I pack the same way I did when I was fighting fire. I change my socks and underwear every four to five days. I don’t bring a base layer in September and just wear my puffy when it’s cold in the am. I have extra pants and a shirt at the truck to change if needed but I’ve learned I can handle my...

Idaho unit 41-1X Road conditions in January

I drew one of the extra cow tags for unit 41-1x in Idaho. The hunt begins January 1 and I was wondering if any one has drawn that tag or if anyone is familiar with the unit. I was wondering how the roads are during that time of year, do they get pretty soupy like a lot of the Owyhee's do or do...
