I know down loses loft when compressed, which is why you’re supposed to store it open and not squished. But does it lose loft overtime? My understanding was that synthetic loses loft quickly due to the fibers being broken down.
But natural down shouldn’t be degrading. It’s a feather that stays...
I have a kifaru LPP half zip in coyote large, Sitka kelvin lite pants medium, that still have the tags that I bought in 2017, and Sitka core heavyweight hoody Large that I bought in 2017, both in open country, for sale! None of them have been worn in the field, I’ve only tried them on at home...
The specs on that jacket look great. A tad heavy if you’re an ounce counter but just lookin at the fill it’s going to be a furnace

So I have the maven c.1. For the money they’re great, but I’m saving up for some swaro slc 10x42’s. I have a child on the way so it might me awhile. My only gripe with the c.1’s is the you can breath in the focus wheel and it will make your image blurry.
I was wondering if there was a tip or...
I’ve had the LPP for years now and never used it. It’s really heavy and really bulky. And tbh, I don’t think it’s as warm as everyone says. The cloth is also really loud and has a weird tent or sleeping bag like feeling to it. Idk, you might like it, but it would be the first jacket id ditch if...
I’ve never tried a kifaru. But I love my exo. IMO it has the best bag layout, you don’t need to buy anything extra like a lid or external pockets. It’s very well designed.
That being said I haven’t used it to haul any big loads. I killed a cow elk but it was right next to a truck with a winch...
I have the mirage. It’s crazy warm and light. It’s warmer than my FL brooks, miles ahead of my Sitka kelvin lite, FL uncompahgre, and kifaru LPP. And half the weight of most of those.
The only jacket I have that’s warmer is the Montbell permafrost because it has more down and a gore...
Montbell mirage and feathered friends Helios are very similar but even lighter and warmer.
But they’re also more expensive and not water resistant down.
Is there a reason you don’t just buy the Grumman instead of trying to find a like for like substitute?

Are you looking for something similar in the hunting industry or can it be a mountaineering company as well?
Are you looking for something similar but more affordable? Because that will eliminate a ton of contenders.
Which part or parts of the Grumman are most important to you that you would...
