    WTS SLC 8x42

Used, good condition. Lenses are great. Made in 2018. Comes with Outdoorsman bino stud. I have the box, the Swarovski bag/case, hinge thread cover, lens covers, lens cloth. Asking $1,450 TYD, PayPal F&F. Or add 3% for G&S, which is $1,493.

    Glass options

Of that list the meopro is one I have no experience with. All the rest are all great options. The Meostar HD is the best value, and is a great bino. It’s almost as good as the SLC. If budget is a concern it’s the clear winner. Buy a used 10x42 for~$600 and you will be set. Otherwise, try as...

Cheap standing height tripod for home/not packing.

Slik Pro 700 DX AMT Tripod Sportsman’s sells it for $120, legs only. Buy the head separately. It’s 5.5 lbs, can max out at 70”. After you account for the head and optic it’s probably ~76 inches, which is on the taller end for tripods. It is the best balance between stability and price that I...

How tall of a tripod for hunting?

rcook10 and Elkangle make some really great points. When glassing 2.5-3 hours per session, I cannot sit the entire time. I know the pros say to always sit to glass but I have to stand periodically to stretch out. Even if your back and joints allow you to sit for your entire glassing session...

    Best low light binoculars

A quality 8x42 with 5.25mm exit pupil or a good 7x42 with a 6mm exit pupil are tough to beat if you are looking for an all-around option. The 10x50 will hurt your low-light performance when compared to equivalent quality glass in the two previously mentioned configurations. The “budget”...

Binos for My Daughter, Help me Decide Please....

+1 for 8x. Possibly even 6x or 7x, though the choices in those magnifications are far fewer. The 6mm exit pupil on the 7x42 is very forgiving. And wider FOV can be especially helpful for birding.

Meopta/Cabelas Meostar/Euro HD - Best buy in used bins?

I owned the made in Japan vipers and replaced them with the Meoptas in the same configuration. I bought the vipers for $250, and they are certainly adequate. Probably even at full price. But they don't compare to the meostars. The meostars are at a quality level that I can glass comfortably...

Upgrading binocs - Help with 8x32 vs 8x42

This is my experience. By that I mean shadowing, and a very narrow margin for eye alignment with an 8x32. I did a bit of reading and one source said that the human pupil is typically ~5MM. The 8x32 has a 4MM exit pupil vs the 5.25MM exit pupil of the 8x42. I have compared my 8x32 Cabelas Euro...

WTB Kids binos that don't suck

6.5x32 is great for kids. Steady, wide field of view helps them actually see the animals you are trying to point out to them. 7x35 is another good one. But it seems manufacturers have gone away from this configuration. You may be forced to buy used for this setup. I have the vortex 6.5x32...
