Pop up 38 and adding lumbar support

I tried on a pop up 38 and the waist belt felt good but the lumbar area lacked the thickness I prefer. I added some foam to my duplex hunter frame to thicken it up. To those who own MR frames have you ever added suppport to the lumbar area?

    Titanium Wood Stove Options

I have used my Lite Outdoors stove for a few years. The large door is great for big pieces of wood. Just don't let your expensive jacket touch the stove pipe......

Seam sealing new seek outside cimarron

The flexible seam sealer I used came with a brush and I applied it inside my house on a ironing board. Worked well...takes a while.

    Weighted pack causing hip pain

If I feel any hip fatigue it is usually due to the pack sitting a little low. I added a few sections of an old foam sleeping pad to my Kifaru lumbar pad and it helps keep the pack riding higher.

Part 2: I paid the stupid money for the 22 yr old Tacoma

My ex coworker had a tacoma like myself so we would chat about trucks. One day were talking about four wheel drive and he tells me he tows his tent trailer in 4x4. I’m like what??? He tells me it’s more powerful. We’re talking summer highway towing. I’m like you don’t have to do that dude LMAO.

Planning my 2021 Stone Sheep Hunt

Beauty rams you have!! Sounds like you have been on many epic adventures. My Dad is my sheep hunting partner and he'll turn 69 on sheep opener this year (Aug.25 in AB). We started hunting sheep when he was 61. We only do backpack hunts, so he works outs months ahead in order to keep up with...

Camp Chef Wood Stove to heat a Wall Tent

We use that stove in the big horn 3. Provides all the heat you'll need in cold temps. During the night it needs attention every two hours or so if you want to keep the place warm. I wish it was bigger.

    Hunting after Achilles’ tendon tear

A 1/4" heel lift will take some off the stress off your tendon. I injured my achilles (not a tear) a few weeks before a 12 day backpack trip. With a 1/4", deck of cards sized piece of dense rubber (homemade) that I put under my superfeet orange insole, I was able to do the whole trip pain...

My Lowa Tibet GTX boots make me sad.......

If the boot hurts your feet now get rid of them. They are not going to suddenly feel great a few miles from now. There are lots of choices out there. I bought and returned the tibets and hanwag boots because they both rubbed the outside of my big toe. I wear Asolo and Mendl boots. I put...

    Kifaru Timberline Series vs Reckoning

DT1 owner for a few years. Love the pack. Use it for day hunts and up to 10 days. I have stuffed half elks and bear hides in it. Always fits with a little persuasion. If the diameter of the opening was a few inches wider I wouldn't complain, but it always gets the job done.

Kifaru AMR vs Stone Glacier Sky Talus

I had the same issue with my dt1. I used something similar to the kifaru k clip to attach the lid to loops on the frame. Works great.
