    Chugach sheep hunt 24

That is not crazy, but also not exactly my cup of tea so to speak. However, I should be able to log some flying hours ahead of time to inform my decision on where to focus.

    Chugach sheep hunt 24

I appreciate all of the discussion. My intent is not to walk around on the ice, but I've seen that there's some strips on the glacier edges so some amount of navigation over the ice may be required to get on/off and to/from hunt-able drainages? I'd rather not pack the weight, but don't want to...

Well stated. I did realize that going into it, so I'm preparing for it now mentally and physically.

    Chugach sheep hunt 24

Hello fellow sheep enthusiasts- I was super fortunate to draw DS165. Have to admit, I'm a pretty new AK resident and this will be my first real dall's hunt. I have a couple of questions for anyone that's done this hunt (or similar) before. - Timing -- Aug 10 - Sept 20 is the season, any...

    What’s everyone’s favorite squirrel recipe?

Favorite way to prepare with multiple future options is to cut squirrel into 5 pieces (quarters and loin section). Save the rib section and neck for the stock pot as these pieces have lots of small bones and excluding them reduces the strays in the final product in my experience. Slow cook the...

    Warmest Down Coat

Lands End and LLBean have many such coats at good prices. They also have coats of varying lengths. I got my wife what we call the "sleeping bag coat" last year from LE. She loves that thing when it goes <0 and someone has to walk the dog... The forloh option looks nice if you want to keep it...

Tikka T3x Front Action Screw - 20lbs Torque Enough?

My action screws came from factory very loose and gun wouldn’t shoot worth a damn. Took a while to diagnose. I put in the MT bottom metal in addition to the trigger spring. Torqued to 40/35 back and front. Perfect groups. have you tried shooting it yet at 35/20?

    Moose ribs

Definitely. I dry rub and smoke for 1.5 hrs. Then braise covered in a 275-300 oven until they get nice and tender. Braise liquid usually a bit of cider vinegar and cherry juice but beer or red wine work. Slather with your favorite BBQ sauce and get that carmelized on the grill

Gov Shutdown: Wisconsin DIY Public Land Archery Hunt

The gov didn't shut down, so maybe the dream died. But surely the possibility of another shutdown will happen again, and maybe during the rut! To the OP: I can't comment on your locations per se, but I lived in WI for 30 years. Shot deer on private and public. Sounds like you have some great...

    Lowa Tibet Vs Crispi

I haven't tried that model yet, but should if I could find one locally to try on. I spent some time on the phone with a product manager at Lowa a few years ago trying to sort all of this out, and she told me that the Tibet hi was built on a wider last (hunting last or something like that if I...

    Lowa Tibet Vs Crispi

My first Tibets (Hi version, std width) are from ~2015. I just got a new pair last year and they have relocated the stud on the tongue a bit higher up and added webbing to the heel eyelet. the eyelets below the locking ones are ball bearing. My feeling is that the new version (I have 11.5 in...
