    Question for the string makers

I use the 14 strands if D97 with .026, they fit perfect on my nocks. Can’t even tell you what make the nocks are, they are the same ones I have used for a few decades.

Which broadhead are you guys using?

My preferred broadhead is the Eclipse 145 with bleeder, makes it 153+/-, I take the bleeders out for moose. Any well made broadhead will get it done, if it fly‘s good. My belief: Most people would be better off spending the time spend worrying about their broadhead, practicing putting the arrow...

    Wood arrows and crester

Looks like Andy will get you in the ballpark. There no exacts when a human is involved. Your release, type string, type bow, and actual draw length ( most people think they draw farther than they do), along with numerous other things will affect the spine of your arrows. Rule of thumbs, +/-...

    Wood arrows and crester

I second Sherwood Shafts, Carson is great to to work with. https://surewoodshafts.com/ My recommendation is to call either The Footed Shaft (https://footedshaft.com/) or Addictive Archery (https://www.addictivearchery.com/) as a source for your arrow building materials, they both provide...

Have you been on a great hunt?

Some people spend $2.5K+ for the latest, greatest compound, others cut a tree down and several years later whittle some bows from it. In the right hands, both will kill any critter you want. Some people can do their AK moose hunt for $6K, others will spend more than twice that for a comparable...

    .

Congratulations on a really fine moose! When going solo, I have an aluminum four pulley setup that was put together with mountain climbers gear. With rope, pulleys, carabiners, and cam latch, it weighs a little over one pound, makes rolling a moose over by yourself a lot easier. Oh ya You...

    Archery gear

I’m headed back to AK with my selfbow two weeks from today. It’s not like I’m counting the days or anything like that. My setup is probably a little simpler than yours. On all my previous moose hunts, this moose hunt, and all my other hunts, I bring: -One dozen arrows, 8 with broadheads, 4...
