Gas Vehicles - Are you concerned new Biden Admin EPA regulations on gas vehicle emissions will restrict or negatively impact your ability to hunt?

Exactly. Internal combustion will go away eventually, probably sooner than we all think. But as many have said, EVs are not ready for prime-time for those of us that like to get back of beyond for hunting.

Who Has Gassed Rats / Voles or Other Underground Pests?

I had a skunk under my coop a few years back. Luckily they aren’t terribly skittish, so I was able to come from upwind and nail him with a couple darts from the blow gun. Once he died, I bagged him and put him in a nearby dumpster. Only had to wash my clothes twice!

Anyone have trouble with Colorado apps?

The only issue I had was for elk and maybe one or two other species the only “unsuccessful option” available was “nothing”. But I feel like in the past when this has occurred I have still gotten a preference point if I didn’t draw 1st choice…

What’s the coolest thing you found in the back country

Yeah. Bear climbed up about 30 feet to get after something! I've seen a few of those trees over the years...

    crispi

I am on my second pair of Thor II GTX's. Very comfortable, stable, grippy, etc. But still lightweight. My first pair leaked after the 3rd season... but that's about as long as you can expect a Gore-Tex liner to last in my experience. I cleaned and re-sealed that pair and they are still bomber...

What’s the coolest thing you found in the back country

I assume this was some bear's attempt to carve a naked sow into a tree... Or, more likely, it went up the tree after a raccoon or porcupine...

I’m not looking for honey holes but…

If you like Mexican and are forced (sadly) to travel I-70 through Colorado... Jilbertito's in West Glenwood is awesome.

I’m not looking for honey holes but…

I was definitely weighting my recs by location... FWIW. Gwin's Lodge of any vintage would have gone out of business on day 1 in any town bigger than Cooper Landing (pop. ~200 in those days). Haha!

I’m not looking for honey holes but…

I worked at Gwin's for a bit a (long) while back. Agreed that things kinda fell apart over there after about '98. I second Fiesta Jalisco in Craig. Food was really good, service was fast, and the margarita was large....

    Trekking Poles as Bipod

Another vote for the Wiser Precision gizmo… very quick to engage, and a little more stable than the strap method.

    Different ideas?

100% agree, personally. I'm kinda in the middle. But the far right and the far left also agree 100%. There are insanely well-funded people/groups and poorly-understood technologies that are hell-bent on ensuring this division continues and accelerates. Once they convince enough Americans...

How to catch an untrapable mouse.

Do you have a trail cam? It would definitely be worth knowing if it is in fact a vole. Totally different strategy there (and no blow gun).

Kuiu piece you can’t hunt without?

How can I like the taste of venison

Big fan of ice-aging as well. When I was butchering my elk from this past season, you could definitely smell the "elkiness" in the kitchen and my wife was pretty sure she wasn't going to like the meat. After 10 days of ice-aging there's no smell to the raw meat whatsoever... and everyone in...
