On the bottom I have it like you do. On top I have it going through the triangle ring right below where you have it in the picture. It works fine for me this way.
Good points for When sk1. I only use orange that is much brighter than fall leaves....blood shows up clearly...could easily find them in the snow or early season foliage.

I just pick colors for fun looks and easy to find although I have wondered what the animal sees before they get nailed. I think sometimes the sound is more of an issue. Not sure though.
