Help me choosing gun, caliber and ammo for long range hunting in the italian hills

Doesn't the 7X64mm have a greater availability in your neck of the woods? It is roughly 170 fps slower then a 7mm mag if I am correct? That would make it a nice and capable round.

    2022 / 23 F-250 Tremor Feedback wanted....

My dads 2012 Ford F350 6.7 ate the fuel pump and wrecked the fuel system. $10K later (thanks Bosch) it is fixed until the next fuel pump grenades because of the Ultra Low Sulfur diesel.

    300 win mag

H1000 will be good with heavier pills. I push 230grn projos with H1000. RL22 would be great for the weight projos you are looking at but the H1000 would also work just fine. Those two are my go to's for .300WM powder.

    Turkey population

I used to have a bunch of turkeys in my pasture but with the predator population exploding and a limited ability to reduce said population because of land owners it will only get worse. Also doing my part, him and his buddy were going after my ducks. No more

    Thermal for the working man

Nice!! I am currently running a Hogster-R35 on my .22. Got this little guy at around 120 yards.

At what point does reloading payoff?

I have been reloading for a while (about 30 years). It becomes really beneficial when you take the time to dial in a load for a particular rifle.

Who hunts with a 10lb+ rifle?

Sako TRG-42 in .338 LP, S&B PMII. Not a lightweight. I was hunting caribou in Alaska.

Barrel break in, does it matter?

I run a couple of patches down the bore of my rifle when I first get it to ensure that nothing fell in or was left behind from the machining process. Then I shoot until my groups start to degrade, then I clean, rinse and repeat.

Anyone send a Rifle back to Remington for trigger recall?

I have a Jewell trigger that was meant for bench rest competition and weighed on my RCBS trigger scale at half a pound. I adjusted it to 2 pounds, but that is my competition rifle. I agree they are nice triggers.

    Thermal for the working man

Post a review if you do please. I bought a few toys recently so I am on double secret spending restriction (one of my recent purchases was a cannon).

    Thermal scanner

Helmet mounted or handheld? For helmet I would look at a NOX-18. If on a budget for helmet mounted there is always the Flir Breach. If you have a large budget I would look for a Skeet. The Phenom seems like a solid option for hand held.
