I have pair of the calked version...it's a nice boot. The stark coating makes the leather pretty tough and abrasion resistant. I'm sure it reduces the breathability somewhat but that's not an issue for me.
I have a couple of the watershed packs that use a zip-lock type seal if you are after total waterproof.

I use my pac boots when the temperatures drop below 20F which isn't too often in SE Alaska. Warmer or wetter conditions I usually wear some insulated Xtratuf rubber boots.
I've used the Wiggy's waders on several sheep hunts and I think they work pretty well. The key to minimizing leaks is to only put them on to cross the stream and take them off as soon as you reach the other side.
Just bumping this back up...I'm interested in any belt modifications to the Barneys frame that folks have tried and had success with? Mine seems to eventually slip down on me.
I've been using the Wiggy's option but I agree that they aren't the most durable. I minimize the time using them to decrease the wear & tear. Also, to minimize weight, I share a pair with a partner. If the crossing is short the waders are put in a ziplock with a small rock and then thrown...
I put my pack inside a x-large duffle bag like the one in the link. I can fit a loaded Barney's Pinnacle in the duffle and still have room around the sides for extra gear or clothing.
