    Tent recommendation

I just recently grabbed the Two and am pretty happy with it's size/weight for solo or 2 people.

    Need sleep system education

If you aren't packing in, and this fits within packing parameters. I'd get an EXPED MegaMat and pair if with a compact style cot like a Helinox https://www.expedusa.com/collections/basecamp-mats/products/megamat-10

    Goggins 4x4x48

Guess I missed it again! I was actually out yesterday morning on my 4mi run thinking it was about time for this to take place again. Guess I'll have to do it on my own at some point

    bag/liner/pad setup question

You aren't quite comparing apples to oranges on those mats. The EXPED Dura series is going to use heavier face fabrics which in turn provides a more durable mat, but it will pack bigger and way more. I'd suggest looking at the Ultra 7R series for the comparison. The one benefit you will see is...

    Big Agnes or Nemo

I've got the TNF Wawona 6, and love it. Tons of space inside, plus a big vestibule that can fit 2-3 chairs or 2 chairs and a small table for when the weather craps out. A buddy also has one and even cut and sewed a stove jack in to the vestibule for shoulder season use.

    Surprise over night questions?

Tarp is solid to have with you, it's always in my pack and something I've thought many times of removing. I removed it for one trip last year and it was a regret. The one trip I had it on it proved it's worth. I'd still consider a closed cell foam pad, like you originally mentioned with the...

    Exped Mega Mat 10

I use the 10 on a Helinox cot for deer and elk hunts and my wife and I use the 15 Duo for car camping with the family. Kids sleep on the DeepSleep 7.5

    Sleeping pad for truck camping

Should be no issues so long as they aren't a digger. My old lab might do the occasional paw to "fluff' up her spot but nails never punctured. The bigger problems these mats face are cats thinking they are scratching posts at home in their stuff sacks...oh and cactus!

    Pad & Quilt Help

Pretty sure you've gotten enough answers but just going to help out with a few things here. R-value, as stated you will want a mat with at least a 4.8 r-value. Why you ask? Sleeping bags with EN ratings are tested with a mat that has an r-value of 4.8. Width wise, if you are looking at...

    Sleeping pad

For what? Backpacking? Car/truck basecamp? Temperatures you anticipate being in? So many factors as to the "best" depending on your situation., time of year, etc.

    Cold sleeper setup- help!

Another tidbit on EN ratings for sleeping bags. The test is done using a mat with a certified r-value of 4.8. So if you are using a mat with a r-value lower than that you are already losing. Use your X-therm, get a new bag with an EN rating, and if you still need to supplement a closed cell foam...
