    A lot folks follow up on anything that doesn't immediately drop. Whether it's two shots from a .223 on a brown bear or two shots from a 30-06 on an elk, it's a humane habit.

    I also think it's important to note that, at least how I read it, PNWG's statement was simultaneously addressing the R700 and the Hammers. To me, the hammer was the more critical deviation from the Rokslide-special-shooting-77GrTMKs concept.

    Enneagram 4? [emoji6] (me too) I totally understand this, swap 7mm-08 for 260, and I’m in the same boat as you. I have legitimately TRIED to like/want a 6.5CM, but I just can’t do it.

    I assume your anti-CM sentiments extend to the 6mmCM, but if not, that would be my vote. It would still be something philosophically different than your 243.

    That makes the most sense. I've just shot larger groundhogs and even coyotes with 50 and 55 gr VMax at greater distances and lower velocities and had huge, blowout exits. I've never had something hit with this much oomph contain it so perfectly.

    Last evening I shot a groundhog at 9 yards with a 243win shooting 75 Gr V-Max at 3440 fps at the muzzle. A conservative estimate is that it was around 3150 fps on impact. From what I can tell, that should still be north of 1500 ft/lbs. But the weird thing was, I had about a 0.25" entry wound...
