You know I thought the lack of rand and lots of stitching (not single piece) leather sections would make it have a shorter life span. Mine are in their 3rd year and in the 500-700 mile range and still waterproof. I have one spot where a few stitchings are starting to come open but I bought a...
Sounds like it's a midlayer marketed as an outer.
I was hoping that it would be something that could be combined over say a kania puffy to match the proximity wind resistance and insulation. I like a nice later system because then all the prices can be used individually for other applications...
Im in my Hoffman's right now on a cold windy sloppy day of NY hunting and my feet have been the only comfortable thing all day. in a stand the rubber does still absorb some of that cold from the metal platform so I do still slide on arctic shield boot covers when it's 20's or less

I have the kuiu katana pants and firstlite sawbuck both are really good at holding up to abuse. The kuiu I have as a camo hunting pant for active warm weather hunts and the sawbucks I have in a solid as my outdoor work pant

I rotate between super feet flex thins and a set of 6mm ortholites from a pair of topo trail running shoes in my hanwags banks. Super feet offer more support when I'm hunting but I wear my hanwags for outdoor chores around the farm too and the ortholites are way more comfortable, but if I hike...
I wear 9 in running shoes, 8.5 meindl perfect hunters and my hanwags are 9.5 wide
I'd size up at least a half size from the meindl if not half and wide

The hunter is a great boot, I've had the ultralights too but they wear out fast due to more seams and flex but are really light weight. I'll get the hikers at some point too
The extreme are taller and the valkum are stiffer but I'd call and talk to them about which model is best their customer...
I've tried a bunch of boots including Crispi but the meindl boots by far fit the best. I have the comfort hunters and the ultralight hunters but will get the hikers as soon as my hanwags wear out
