    Creepy experiences in the backcountry

yeah it was creepy. I was close to his age too (I'm born in 1967). My friends and I would keep watch for AMC Gremlins as that was the car reportedly used to kidnap him from Birmingham. If we saw a Gremlin, we all ran home.

Help me with my fortunate situation/deciding where to go.

Years ago I had a Taylorcraft…you could fly it with the door off, which would make it a great shooting platform. But with a top speed of 85 mph, it would take me almost as long as driving to get out west.

Help me with my fortunate situation/deciding where to go.

Hi All, I'm a long time Michigan predator hunter (fox, coyote, bobcat--although I've never gotten the latter), who is ready to expand my hunts a bit. A little about me: I'm very fortunate to have a job/business that pays really well, a job/business that gives me lots of time off, a pilot's...

    Creepy experiences in the backcountry

There is an island 30 miles out in Lake Michigan called North Fox. In the 1970s, it was owned by a rich doctor, who was part of a child murder/pornography ring. He built an airstrip on the Island, and cabin. His group would fly young boys under the guise of "summer camp" to photograph and...

    Making Fire with Flint

My girlfriend and I have been big fans of the Alone series. Over the summer, I bought us both ferro rods and strikers to try our hand at this type of fire starting. When they arrived we agreed to a contest to see who could start a fire the fastest....I guess we both lost (or it was a tie)...

    Coyote Howling November through January

When I hunt in northern lower peninsula Michigan, I’ve always used a howl just as a locator. I hunt yotes on public land over the winter, and they tend to be scarce in the area I frequent, so the howl/response helps me locate a dog and point me in the direction to set up. Then I switch to...

    Hello from IN

Welcome from Michigan! My plan is to get out west to hunt often…I’ve been out there many times, but never for hunting. Just last week I’ve asked for a week off in January for a coyote hunt.

    Anyone using 20ga for yotes?

Hevi-shot makes a goose load for 20 gauge (although its 3", which still bucks pretty good)...I would think that would do the trick on a 'yote.
