    Win Free Gear #3

Merino for sure, but I like a little sinthetic blended in there as well. No stink, no itch, cool when its warm, warm when its cool. My favorite base layer at the moment is an OLD 1/4 zip merino patigonia. Would live to get into some Skre though!

    Meateater season 9

Its not any differnt, or any worse, than all the pagentry bullshit that so many of these "outraged" folks used to gobble up. The truth is that yes, Netflix messed up big time in their promotion of the movie. And yes, it is a film about an uncomfortable topic, young women coming of age, and...

Let's have your best asparagus recipe.

I really like to sauté pretty hot in EVOO, and throw in some garlic, red pepper flake, sliced almonds and a healthy squeeze of lemon when its just about done. Or par-bake some bacon for 15 minutes (oven at 420), salt pepper evoo the spears, wrap 2-3 at a time with bacon, return to oven till done.

    Comfiest packs, and why?

Try lots of good packs on. Put lots of weight in them. Pick the one that is the most comfortable!

    Running Shoes

Ive always been a believer of "try lots on, buy what fits really well." I just recently got a new pair and surprisingly ended up with some Colombia Montrail's that I've been really happy with so far.

    Fly line brands

Check out Bozeman Flyworks. Great guys that really did their research and get their lines made at the same factory as some of the major brands, at half (or less than) the price and direct to you.

    Bear spray or pistol?

Both for sure. Ideally use they spray first (left hand), circumstances allowing to deter a potential false charge. 44 mag is always coming out in my right hand first though, and is going to be used without hesitation if the situation doesn't allow for a calculated and accurate dose of spray, or...

MT Elk hunting on the front? Is it worth it with all the grizzly encounters?

It is getting hectic with the increase in Griz density, but IMHO its just another factor to be prepared for when going into the woods, not something to scare you off. My best advice for making sure you get your animal our of the woods is to take the time to get the meat and trophy well away...

    Eastern Oregon Hunting?

Following along as I have a pending move to Oregon as well (from MT). Im moving late enough next year that I will be able to get MT tags and come back to hunt next fall, but will be stuck for the next few years hunting OR or getting out of state tags. I do bow hunt, so that should help with OR...
