    Colorado Spring Turkey

This was yesterday morning. About a mile or so from public where I killed a bird last year.

    Nonresident Ohio Turkeys

Guys, not looking for anyone’s spot or anything, but I’m gonna be in Dayton May 13-17 for work, so thought I might come out a few days beforehand and jump in the woods for a couple of days. There’s a few really small public pieces somewhat close to Dayton, but I’d figure that late in the season...

    Hot Sauce Recommendation?

https://www.boulderhotsauce.com/products/harry-s-habanero This is my favorite, I've been buying this stuff for years. I like that its a local CO company, and it goes on about everything. Its pretty spicy, but its not insanely spicy. Its not one of those novelty type hot sauces, its truly a...

Anyone have experience with a Flycraft raft?

Hey guys, I have been thinking about upgrading my old beater canoe for something that might be slightly more versatile. Something I could float trout streams, throw a small motor on and use on lakes, use for hunting access as well. I keep coming back to the Flycraft package with a small 3.5...

WTB Outdoor edge original orange rubber handle knife 👊👊👊👊

Unfortunately I don’t have one for sale, but I do have one. Just curious, what’s the difference between this and the newer version? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Mental Stability in the Field.

I think everyone is different. For me, I absolutely love isolation, and a week or two in the high country all by myself literally invigorates my soul. As far as the fortitude to keep going aspect, again for me, I think it comes down to a couple of things. One, is how passionate you are for...

    Nissan Titan PRO-4X

resale will probably suck. That's the biggest downside to Nissans in my opinion. I bought a 2004 Titan back in 2005, and put 280,000 miles on that truck. The day I got rid of it, I would not have hesitated to drive that truck across the country. That 5.6 was a good motor.

    Working out.

I’m and old school dude who spent time in the Army. I really believe in the old Army adage “Train like you fight” , I just tailor it to “train like you hunt”. All my workouts are really focused on hunting and archery. For me, I keep a 55lbs backpack in my truck. At work, I’ll do 45 minutes...

    300 AAC BLK Subsonic

I'm not trying to be a smart-ass or argumentative or anything, I'm genuinely just curious, but wouldn't a crossbow with a 2" mechanical be a better option in a scenario like that? I like to hunt with ARs, and between my son and I, we've killed quite a few deer and antelope with 6.8SPC and one...

    Which youth rifle?

Some the AR specific calibers in a small bolt gun would make fine youth rifles for whitetail. 6mm ARC, 6.5 Grendel, 6.8 SPC, etc. My son has shot 5 whitetail and a couple antelope with a 6.8SPC and it had dropped all of them in their tracks. I actually just built a really nice 6ARC AR, but...

    Snowshoe hare in Colorado?

Hey guys, I normally drive out to Craig to rabbit hunt and have always had good luck out there. I recently moved from the Front Range up into the foothills a bit. I’m going to get out and start chasing some bunnies here closer to the new house. Anyone get into snowshoes (or cottontails for that...

    Incredible development in hunting technology

One of the first things I learned to always have in my pack when I was in the Army back in the 90's, was baby wipes or wet wipes. I guess I was more surprised to learn 30 years later that not everyone carries them LOL.

Lakes in CO to hike into to fish

Look up the book “A Fly Fishing Guide to Rocky Mountain National Park” by Steven Schweitzer. It’s probably the most comprehensive resource for fishing the park, what lakes and streams hold fish and what species. I fish the park a lot, despite the crowds at trailheads, there’s some really good...

What items do you carry multiples of while in the backcountry?

As I’ve gotten older, one thing I carry 2 of now are cheap reading glasses. Usually one pair in my shirt or jacket pocket and a pair in my pack. I invariably leave a pair laying on the ground where I’d been sitting and glassing or just waiting in ambush for a while. I keep an extra release in...
