Recoil varies so widely, it would be impossible to answer this. Gun weight, bullet weight, velocity, which silencer, etc. in my experience, silencers cut recoil substantially (25% or more if I had to guess and put a number on it).

Good luck and stick to it!
And yes, I’ve shot over a pope and young coues deer’s back at 15 yards. Would have been a gimme all day with a wheel bow.

Strongly recommend an x bolt. For the money I don’t think there are many better options. If you have deep pockets, get a custom/semi custom.

Speed makes a huge difference. At 250+ yards, my 180 tsx from a .300 wsm get a complete pass through on a bull elk and don’t expand maybe a 1/3 over caliber diameter. The same bullet and load at 75 yards expands to almost 3/4” and comes to rest under the off side hide. YMMV

They don’t support the older guns anymore. That’s why parts for the old ones are on eBay for half the price of a new gun.

Love my hell’s canyon speed in 300 wm. I know it’s not a fancy custom or semi custom, but it’s light and shoot well. I carry it over some more expensive semi customs.

One of the best compounds. I killed a deer with mine this year. Nothing you can’t do with it. You’ll pay a lot to get a modest performance increase.

Unload and clean it. See if there’s bad putting. Clean it with a bronze brush as good as possible. Test fire for accuracy. If it’s badly pitted it may not be a great shooter, but depending on distances you hunt, it may work just fine.
