Also if you're selling something for the same or less than you bought it the reporting (if any) of the proceeds generally doesn't really 'do' anything to your taxes.

I just got the Fenwick eagle 6' 6". Haven't fished it yet but quality seems solid and came in a decently nice case which was a bonus. Half the price of the st. Croix which helps because I had to buy enough for me plus kids and we'll probably be a bit hard on them...

I just bought a used swarovski 8x rangefinder on the forum classifieds and I can tell you it's insanely better optics than my leupold or Bushnell. Not even comparable. Its kind of big though.

I've done ducks a few times. Mostly mallards but also some of the better meat / egg varieties. I'd they don't have a large pen and water source my experience is they are about the most dirty animal you can find. I like having them but mostly it hasn't been worth it for the mess...

Also I'll third the sheep trying to die thing - definitely wouldn't be the animal I'd start with personally based on my single experience and also are tough to co-pasture because they are super sensitive to copper.

I have had 1 - 4 pigs per year (spring - fall) for the last several years, did two lambs this year and have free range egg chickens plus periodically raise meat birds using Joel Salatin's method.
