Sleeping Bag Suggestions - Early Season Whitetail backpacking Southern IL

Thanks Guys. I have 2 pads right now (Klymit Static V and a REI one that they don't make anymore). Neither are insulated...so it sounds like I need to add that to the list. For a bag I would prefer Synthetic but I am open to down.

Sleeping Bag Suggestions - Early Season Whitetail backpacking Southern IL

I have a Marmot 45 Nano sleeping bag, thinking i need something with a colder temp range. Any suggestions? Looking to spend less than $200 (Ideally less than $150) Weight is a concern but not the only factor.

I haven't used it for hunting but the lanshan 2 pro is pretty nice. Six moon sells aluminum and carbon fiber poles you can use in place of trekking poles for this tent. I bought a set of aluminum ones for a bike packing trip since I had no need for trekking poles at that time. Question I have...

Illness in the Shawnee National Forest?

I know this is an old thread, but is this still going on? I'm considering trying a backpack hunt down there next fall.

Want to try Backcountry hunting. I live in Illinois and have no clue where to start

Thanks a lot everyone. I really like the idea of going on a "Hunt" without the hunting, or maybe doing small game hunting in this manner first to really give it a go without having to drop all the $$ on the tag and worrying about packing the animal out/getting it processed for the drive home.

Want to try Backcountry hunting. I live in Illinois and have no clue where to start

So I'll be 40 in about 4 years, I have a goal to big game hunt in the back country before the calendar year I turn 40 ends. That gives me plenty of time to learn, research, train etc. I live in IL so not a lot of public land stuff out here. So likely I will be traveling. Is there a state/game...
