I didn't draw this year in MT and am now 0 for two on the year. However, i expect to be 0 for 3 when Colorado comes out. I guess I'm applying for sheep tags next, so I won't be drawing any tags this year.
I like Lowa boots, quality boots and fit my feet well. I've owned Crispi, Solomon and tried on Zamberlien, Meidle. All seemed like quality boots, but finding boots that fit is the most important factor.
This is possible, but let's hope they don't re-list when wolves have filled all available habitat (DNR said that) and clearly are recovered. One year of hunting is nice for the hunters that get tags, but I'm hoping they stay under state control where they belong.
Happy to see them off the endangered species list and the state taking control of their management. This year's hunt is being rushed. The 2021 to 2022 season should give us a better idea of the DNRs management goal.
Usually January through March/April, but I haven't seen much for good sales this year. A lot of guys are nice enough to post them on here. Also, sign up for emails from retailers.
I've switched to no blind bow hunting for turkeys a few years ago. I haven't scored yet, but have missed one and had some close opportunities that I blew. A ghillie suit and a decoy helped me get close, but they do pick up your movements quickly in the open. It's certainly a lot more challenging...
I was within shooting distance of several qmule deer does when elk hunting, so I guess it is possible to shoot one without concentrating on mule deer. That said, there are far more experienced elk and mule deer hunters that can give you the pluses and minus of trying for both on the same hunt. I...
This year, I hunted One ten day elk hunt and a four day whitetail weekend away from home. I also hunt a lot of weekends for whitetail around home, then nearly every morning before work from daylight savings time until the end November. Getting up at 3am,then working until 6 is a long day, but...
I shot a sweet spot for a while, then shot a honey badger bear claw which I liked much better. I found the sweet spot to be awkward and other releases easier to control. The safety will limit your choices, but if you're hunting with it, I understand why you would like one. I knew a couple of...
I have only hunted Montana once, but there where far more Montana hunters than out of state hunters where I was hunting, especially on the weekends. Also, the local Montana hunters hunted hard, getting way back away from the roads. Several camps had horses.
Colorado seemed to be more of a 50/50...
