If you listened to the podcast you’d realize the bear would be dead because you shot it in the face. A pmr30 gives you 30 opportunities to do so. My 9mm only gives me 13 opportunities.
If it were me I would probably just put another 6.5x55 barrel on it since you likely have components already.
If you don't have components, a prefit in 6 creed or 22 creed would be high on my list.
Personally, I’d probably get a T3x hunter in 6.5x55 and order another barrel in 7mm Mauser so I could have both classic calibers. You could also get the same rifle in 7mm-08 and have it rechambered, you’ll just need new magazines.
Hodgdon's load data for the 7mm-08 using 6.5 StaBall has some impressive velocities. 7mm SAW might be another option as well.
If I was in your shoes though I'd be looking at a 22CM or 6CM rebarrel.
That certainly wasn't my intent, it's common for me to talk to people who have never timed themselves shoot (mostly drawing from concealed) be overconfident about how quick they are. After my first post you indicated you had a timer, so I didn't doubt you had likely timed it at some point...
I believe the solution is to rebarrel if you're unwilling to change bullets. That is after you've tried other powder combos.
1/2 MOA accuracy is not as common as the internet will have you believe as well. 1.5 MOA can get you within the vital zone of a big game animal way out there.
Unless you live in a commie state that has specifically targeted them (which I'm unsure if that's happened but it's hard to keep up with the outliers), you can use them. Doesn't hurt to join one of the groups who were granted the stay through a few of the ongoing court cases.
In reality if your...
