Ive been looking at the GoTent by Davis (10x10).... and like its price. This one has a nice build to it with the tensioners to pull the side walls out and its much lighter than the GoTent... but geez the price is outrageous. No window or screen door option? Hmmm.
I've got a Davis 14x16, got it 2 years ago.
Looks like you got a good build going... just some small additional items I think you might like.
You're more than likely going to be doing some stake modifications, such as adding washers, etc just to get the guy lines securely tightened down. I...
Yea - with the orange and silver (or grayish) striping - I expected the gray/silver to be reflective. This is just those cheap rolls that they sell at Sportsmans or Cabelas. My expectations were too high. Lol
Never expected this would have happened.... I hanged flagging ribbon in the trees to help in locating our spike camp at night when shinning our headlamps in the direction our gps was pointing us to.
Later that night, when getting in the vicinity of our spike camp, we began to shine our...
Well lets see.... I started with the Exo K3 1800.... I opened up the box, looked at...kept staring at it in my living room. Then was like, nope not going to be enough. I called Exo and got the exchange to the 3200.
Then I handed the 3200 down to my son and use a 4800 now. Now Im thinking...
I am glad you are preparing with a rain cover and not use a dry bag! (also glad you posted this as I have just learned about the sea to summit reply!)
We just got done with a second half Sept elk hunt.
We were moving our spike camp to another ridge while it rained on us 24 hrs straight...
Ok ya for sure definitely checks all the boxes. the Xmid 1p I can see is defintely smaller than the Rincon which is 2p. And with the Rincon being so light - its a solid choice. The price point is spot on too. I just wish they'd have an inner net for it. Thanks for the photos and comparison!
I can see the rincon having more area for gear - but something is just not sitting well with me when I see how the rincon's side walls are angled much lower than the Xmid.
Im guessing your having to sleep in the center of the tent near the pole, but either way would your head still hit the side...
Dang! You now just added to my dilema! Hahaha this might actually be what I am looking for - seems like a cross between the Mountain Star and Rincon! Sucks that I need this for Sept and looks like Durston 2p not available closer to Oct.
I like mine a lot. I can adjust the amount of air in it for comfort levels. It rolls up nicely when deflated to be packed.
I have been considering to change though to a packable foam one like the Nemo Switchback as Randy (mtnrunner) said he uses in addition with the Static V. The reason...
