I believe we may have been some of the guys you ran into at the trailhead. I doubt there was another group from West Virginia there. We talked you you guys after packing out my old mans buck, and set him on the tailgate.

Looks like you guys did well!

Very cool story....I am a MN hunter who made the treck out to Region M three years ago and fell in love with it. Grabbed a tag for third year in a row this year - blessed and excited to be able to hunt again. Have lost a few hunting partners to health issues....remember to savor every time your able to climb dem hills!

Some things I learned on this trip...

Wyoming locals are some of the nicest people! We talked to several guys at the trailhead and everyone willingly shared info and even scored Jeremy’s buck for us.

You need more Leuko tape, wet wipes than you think

You need less food and clothes than you think.

The mountains are intimidating when your standing at the bottom, but you CAN climb them.

You can train all you want, but the elevation will take your breath faster than you think. Took me two days to acclimate.

And finally....if three red necks from WV can do a trip like this, so can you!

I can’t wait to go back!

Thanks! That was all a Panasonic Lumix g85 with the 12-60mm Kit lens and a 25mm f1.4. Nice lightweight rig that is pretty impressive!

Congrats. Great story. I agree, that first trip can be so intimidating to plan and get there but once you are there and hunting, it feels like anybody could do it.
