Trying to talk myself out of a quick trip out to NW NE end of December with my bow. Been out there a few times in Sept chasing muleys so know the lay of the land but wondering if there are much for deer hanging out on the pine ridge public land in late season or do the deer pretty much group up on scattered ag fields? Guessing its pretty weather dependent. I'd be looking at the far NW corner of the state. Anybody been out there in late December?

I have hunted the Chadron, Whitney and Crawford area many times over the years. Usually on private. The few times i have been out in December, during ML season, I see few deer. This is even on private. I cant imagine how the public hunting would be good that late in the season. September has been, by FAR, the best time for me to hunt public or private for whitetail or muleys in that area.
