Does it have the regular backpack straps that stash away as well?

No. It came with the across the shoulder strap. It would be a piece of cake to make backpack style straps since it has the female buckles on top and bottom. This is Brand new and never used.

I'm pretty sure it it the guide lid. I just found that it has a nice hip belt that tucks into the lower sleeve. I will post a picture on the post.
