What “luxury” items do you carry on your back?

thanks for the link to the light, light looks nice. I have loaded the pack and weighed it, but some guess work on exact weight with food. I’ve packed meat before so I am familiar with carrying a heavy pack in the mountains and I am already putting down some good mileage with my training pack...

What “luxury” items do you carry on your back?

No spring chicken here, being comfortable is important. Maybe I’ll look at swapping hatchet or tripod for a chair. Honestly I’ve been carrying the tripod in my day pack for years in same area and it rarely gets used. Just convinced someday I’ll really wish I had it.

What “luxury” items do you carry on your back?

Ok. Dome light will get snuck in someone else’s pack. We will be around 8k, 500’ climb on the way on. Shouldn’t be too bad. I’ve hunted the same general area and have covered a lot more ground at higher elevation - with a day pack

What “luxury” items do you carry on your back?

TBH I’ve never used the cot but in my prior warm weather backpacking trips I wake up all night off my pad on the ground. Let’s say I’m an active sleeper. I agree the dome light is silly but shining headlamps in each other’s eyes every evening / morning is annoying. It’s only 8 oz and doubles...

    Cheaper bags and pads?

I recently purchased klymit as well and just so happened to stumble across the ASTM testing controversy and loads of people talking about freezing with klymit insulated pads in cold weather. Luckily I'm still in the amazon return window so it's going back. Paria recharge seems to be a good...

    Big Agnes Q Core Deluxe

Anybody with experience with this pad during late season / cold weather? Expect lows of 10-15 F and would rather not freeze. Will be paired with 0 deg marmot down mummy bag. Going to have a stove in the tent but I want to sleep comfortably, let the other guys get up and mess with the fire...

    Tipi Tent Awning Setup

Exactly my question? Anyone running an awning on a hot tent / tipi? Looks like a nice way to expand space for gear and maybe some wood. Wonder how practical it is
