I'm saying all the professional shooters at IBO, ASA are almost all shooting 23 sized shafts.
Now Redding, that's a different kind of shoot, I can definitely see using skinnies. Not really a 3d shoot tho, that's a field shoot they use 3d targets on.
The contractor is just a check pusher, most don't do chit but pay laborers.
That's why they are just called GC's anymore.
He has an excavator come in and dig it.
Has a Mason or concrete crew lay the foundation.
Has a framing crew frame it.
Has an electrician wire it.
Has a plumber plumb it...
So someone who has all crops, and deer are coming in from adjoining property all summer, what do you propose for them?
Once hunting season is here the damage is done, they disperse and now what?
Do you build Ikea furniture?
Seems the same to me, none of their junk ever fits together right either. Chucking something in a drill and calling it a lathe? Getting fancy.
If you really want to take the pride in some amount of craftsmanship to call it a build when it's just a little...
Where are you shooting that the majority of guys are spending over $500 a dozen for 3d shafts?
I see a handful of outdoor shooters use those shafts, that's about it. Broadwater used them a little a year or 2 ago, he has been back to super drives 23's for 3d.
Redding is a different game, a...
I know knappers, as well as some guys who have spent a lot of quality time with staves and draw knives. Those are builders.
Taking less than a dozen components and putting them together is just assembling. Tho we are in different times now, apparently hipsters have been able to rename...
It's sun that kills them. Grill covers, or keep them well shaded thru the summer, put them up over the winter. That's the approach I take.
I know a place around here put Thompson waterseal on them, or something similar. Guys who shoot up there a lot told me they wouldn't recommend it, but...
It's all supply and demand. Live in a crap state for hunting, get easy tags, yes, multiple. Go somewhere that's supposed to be awesome, more hunters than deer, going to need to limit it somehow.
If you think engine assembly is anywhere near arrow assembly you pretty off base. Plenty are using custom built parts anyways. You call up places to custom size your inserts?
There's about nobody shooting for money in 3d using small diameter.
Maybe shooting this TAC stuff where it's all for fun, but virtually all the pros in the shootoffs yesterday had 23's. Danny Evans doesn't, but it has nothing to do with wind, it's cause they carry better from 40-50 yards...
