BLM identifying lands with no public access...

Interesting. We have some prime spots of public nearby we are locked out of, due to the 4 way intersection of public/private. They will trespass you for jumping the fence at that point, even though you are going from BLM to BLM. CPW claims you can’t jump the fence without touching the private.

What are your thoughts on the Kung Flu?

I doubt China is being honest with the world. If the media dug into this like they dig into trump we might have more info.

Getting to know an area is a good thing, but only if the elk are in the area.

    First Elk Hunt in CO units 7, 8, 9, 19, & 191

The only secret I know is burn boot leather till you find elk and play the wind. I called a really nice 6x into 20 yards last year, just couldn’t get the shot. I should have moved up another 40-50 once I knew he was coming in and I would have stuck him. And that was only 400 yds from a...

    Off Grid power guidance

Perfect opportunity to pre wire for at least 12v lighting at least. Think of it like a camper. Low draw LED lights, a battery or 2 and a couple hundred watts of solar, less than 1k$ for good 12v power.

    What to do

If I had any idea that would have happened we could have hung the meat instead of leaving it in a snow bank, the coyotes ignored the other nearby elk remains, and I don’t blame them.

    What to do

I’ve taken 17 elk, never had a bear issue. Had one instance where three of us each filled cow tags, packed out two and left the third for tomorrow. A big pack of coyotes stripped it down to bone that night.

    Hunting Packs.

Kuiu for me. I’ve not tried any of the others mentioned, but the price and sizing of kuiu sold me and three seasons later I’m happy with my choice. I went with the ultra line, added the more padded shoulder straps from the standard line. All my day stuff plus fits in 3000 easily.
