We've been recommending Alaska Trophy Express for a few years now. Very easy process, meat is stored and transported safely to almost anywhere in the lower 48. No complaints from any clients so far that I'm aware of. Just make sure the brains are removed from the skull prior to dropping them...
Not defending nor bashing WSF but from the mouth of a board member, when they donate money to ADFG it goes into the general fund. There is no way for them to earmark money for sheep or sheep research. The state won’t allow them to take on any conservation efforts of their own so they’ve talked...
Always my go-to pack out meal. I like all the flavors but the caramel apple gets saved for when I have hot water. So tasty!
They just released their cookies for presale as well. The flavors I’ve tried were great even in below zero temps.
I’m a big fan of wall pedestal, especially when you have a beauty cape to show as well. The pedestal hangs exactly the way the shoulder mount does. One lag into the wall stud and it hangs on the typical taxi mount.
If you’re talking forend, I’m planning to put a universal pic rail on the factory stock between the two barrel screws. It’s already flat and shouldn’t take much more than drilling a few holes.
Everyone with an opinion on sheep management in Alaska needs to listen to this podcast, whether you agree or not with the opinions stated on there. I’ll be getting my paws on Wayne’s book as well for sure. I have a lot left to learn…
From my understanding (please correct me if I’m wrong), subsistence harvest does not have to be reported to the state. Hunters are supposed to report harvest to the Feds though. The regs are set by the Federal Subsistence Board...
Interesting, especially on the Unit 11 Chugach harvest. When I was younger hunting under a subsistence tag, we never reported to the State. Not sure if they require it now? Seems odd that those same numbers wouldn't correlate to what the Feds are reporting. Would love to have a State bio shed...
De minimis in the Wrangells. Not sure elsewhere. Ironically, success rates are about on point with most of the State areas.
**I found the 2022 harvest data as well, 2 rams were killed in Unit 11 and 0 rams were killed in Unit 12.**
Not the full Ti version. On my 7mm-08 it’s 11.8oz of WORTH IT.
Quiet (no ear pro needed), reduced recoil (takes the snap out of not having a recoil pad), screws directly onto my barrel with 5/8-24. Absolutely love it.
Quick update, been trying to stay off the socials this fall. Extremely busy with life/guiding/hunting. Running a SWFA 3-15 now and a Rugged 360 suppressor. In love with this current configuration.

Definitely some truth to the accuracy issues with the lightweight factory Thompson 26” barrels. If I remember correctly, EABCO was the company trying to help Jim Shockey hit something back when that’s what he was shooting. Want to say barrel whip was the issue?
The factory bull barrels didn’t...
Matanuska Peak: 10 miles (out/back) and 5500’ of gain. Up in 2:15, down in 1:30. Pretty happy with the time given the terrain. The workout programming has definitely been paying off.
