Iv'e lived in Henderson for 16 years. I work for the city and due to the nature of the job I can steer your towards/ away from certain neighborhoods. There are pros and cons but overall not a bad place to live if you have to live in an urban area. I am a member of a gun club with 1000 yard rifle...
I consider my self a jack of all trades angler. I fly fish for trout, ice fish, soak bait for cats, and take my son out for panfish as much as I can. I know people have their opinions about Meateater, but I enjoyed the Bent podcast because it covered so many types of fishing. I listen to a few...
I carry metal combs and large tweezers for my griff. The burrs come out well with the comb and I use my leatherman/ tweezers for cactus. I also have a bottle of cowboy magic detangle spray I keep at the truck, it makes the combing easier.
I have a griff and live in Henderson. She has a very short coat compared to a lot of griffs, but the heat is still an issue. feel free to PM me any questions.
Another vote for the tikka t3 compact in 7mm-08. My wife loves hers. Honestly just getting her her own rifle with a scope that had the appropriate eye relief was a game changer. She was constantly struggling to get a good view through the scopes on my rifles.
Solid. Seems every bit as good as my Mathews. It's a bit heavy compared to some of the other womens bows but its well balanced. Just for reference she is 5' 4" 130 lbs. 25" draw at 58 pounds. Don't know about the lefty options though.
You paint with an awful broad brush. Not all firemen have the luxury of being in N. Idaho. Next time you are in a city with a busy fire department, I'd encourage you to stop by a station and have a chat with the guys. You might be surprised to find they aren't "playing video games day and night".
I had a bad experience with Obenaufs. The rand on my boot started to separate after and I didn't feel i worked great for waterproofing. Switched to grangers and I'm satisfied with it.
