I agree with the other guys... taking a 7 year old along on an out of state extended backpack hunt is a recipe for disaster.
I take my kids "hunting" with me sometimes(7y and 3y). Any trips with those two(or even just the 7yo)... I'm not doing anything crazy or out there. The day becomes...
I've had great luck buying used/demo optics, both here and on other sites.
To answer why some of those big ticket items sit for longer... its because buying things like NL Pures from a dealer allows people to use credit(i.e. money they don't have). PayPal/Venmo will take credit cards, but when...
One thing I remember reading(and I don't remember where unfortunately) is that turkey can usually pinpoint where a sound/call came from pretty darn closely - and that 60%(I believe) of the time a male Turkey will visit the location where it heard a female at some point during his day.
Sitting...
We're in the golden age of firearms IMO. Even the cheap rifles shoot great these days.
On the flip side, being able to access the internet has spoiled a lot of peoples opinions about stuff... accuracy included.
Truth be told, 1 MOA 5 shot groups consistently is a damn good load for hunting...
Its a two-fold issue...
1. A lot of manufacturers are very optimistic with their maintenance intervals. Take the 3.5 as an example... 10k on a twin turbo engine? No. Lifetime fluids? No. 150k transmission fluid? Hard no.
2. A lot of people like to think they're great at maintaining their...
If you scroll your junk mail, I see this ALL THE TIME. I get messages claiming to be from different credit card companies asking me to "kindly" reply to the offers. The word "kindly" is a direct indication its a scam.
While were talking about scammers - fun fact. Did you know that the bad...
As long as its primarily spot and stalk. I'm not really looking for a baited/dog hunt. Nothing against those things, but as a NR living in Western Washington I don't have dogs and going over to maintain a bait site is probably out of the picture.
One thing that I’ve struck out completely on is spring bear hunting. Living in WA means I also don’t get an opportunity at all to hunt in state so that’s leading me to looking elsewhere.
After perusing pricing on a few websites, it seems it’s a pretty good deal… and I could see where you could...
I also added mine in myself. I opted for a combination of glue and stitching via an awl. It took about 30 minutes all said, and then I left it up overnight to cure the glue.
I have no input on the ti goat stove you have, unfortunately you'll have to wait on someone to come along with that info.
I do have experience with the SO stoves as well as the Kni-Co options.
IMO, if space and weight aren't a concern I'd pick the Kni-Co stoves 10 times out of 10. I believe I...
I have no experience with the Go tent, but I have a regular Davis wall tent that's been great.
With that said, I also own a Kodiak Flex-Bow that has also been great. Super easy setup(seriously 10 minutes or less). I added a stove jack without much fuss.
The flex bow in this case would probably...
Honestly, at the price difference I think I'd buy the Cabelas tent and have a set of aluminum poles made for it if it bothers you that much. I can't imagine you'll be anywhere near the price of the SG even after that.
So here's the deal - I currently own a 10* Enigma which has been great... but while I love the weight savings its honestly way too warm for summer trips and I end up sweating my ass off all night long even if its 40* outside. I realize the weight savings going to a warmed rated bag is minimal...
I might be interested in one for a Knight as well.
I have a question/request. Why not add an additional dot? I think it would be cool to have some sort of BDC similar to the inserts except it would be higher vis and more useful IMO.
I got bear blood and fat on my stuff before and I've had no issues... but, most of the hunting I do is in the mountains where they can't get into garbage or rotting salmon so maybe the bear you shot had been visiting the local dump?
Its not a stupid question.
So you have side port style brakes which are the most effective, and then you have the radial style which still reduce recoil, albeit less effectively while also kicking up a shitton of dust/dirt at the shot which sucks. The ones youre asking are all side port...
What a great idea. I'm gonna start doing this from now on - just post up a handwritten sign at the beginning of the woods I want to hunt. Entire area reserved for my season, no entry. I'll leave when I'm tagged out thanks! 🤡
