    Hard Effort and Elk Hunting

I think the affliction of big game hunting has grabbed ahold of him. And he surely has become too accustomed to the taste of venison to stop now. I too will be back next year, by then all the aches and pains will have been forgotten. And I'll again be ready to make seemingly poor choices that...

Suffering from information overload-looking for elk bullet advice. 7MM08 and 30-06

Agree with Neil above. Elk are not that hard to kill, if you are going to limit yourselves to 200 yd shots, then literally almost anything will work. In the 7-08 I would preferably shoot something 140 or bigger, but obviously whatever he and the guns shoots most accurately is the best choice...

I have not, but PVA has shot a bunch of deer with them. Im sure he could give you some additional feedback. After having used them, I would absolutely use them again on deer or elk at those ranges.

I've used the PVA Cayuga copper bullets, they have very high BC's, more like a match bullet. And they are very effective on animals. https://coldboremiracle.com/2020/01/12/pva-cayuga-solid-copper-hunting-bullets/

    Finding late season cows

Definitely keep an eye on snow levels, In my experience they come down when the snow gets 2-3 feet deep where they are, so they start to move down. but they usually only come down far enough to where they can get feed or kick the snow off of it. If you are in a remote enough area, they may come...

    What caliber

Whatever you shoot best is the obvious correct answer, but never miss an opportunity/excuse for a new gun. Antelope are quite petite, and a 3006 is MORE than enough gun. I choice would be something 25 cal or smaller, so as not to destroy all the meat.

    Antelope bullet

This^, I dont know that I'd want to shoot a legend much further than 250-300 on an antelope.

    Good plans and better memories

One sign that you are getting better at hunting, is when your plans start ending successfully instead of watching deer run off. Twenty-something years ago, my little Brother Spence invited me to come along on a deer hunt with some friends. It was the beginning of a crazy addiction filled with...
