    Cookware

An old Lodge 12" cast iron, mostly used for steaks. Two Matfer Bourgeat 10" and 12" that I've had mixed results. Doesn't help that I moved from a nice 36" gas range to a shitty induction range.

2024 Tacoma- anyone bought one, drove one—thoughts?

I think yours falls into the frame rust recall and leaf spring recall. My 2006 Tacoma had holes in the frame just under the 10mm spec that Toyota spec'd for replacement. I'm so glad I got out of it before it got worse. FYI

2024 Tacoma- anyone bought one, drove one—thoughts?

The 3.5l is the Camry engine, installed in the Tacoma starting 2015. There might be some 200k examples but in most people's mind, the earlier 4.0 was a better match for doing truck stuff, due to more torque at lower revs.

    Tikka Threading Questions

I just got my two T3 barrels back from Kampfeld. 5/8x24 and they look fantastic. Edit: Both cut to 20".... One was a 22" 7-08 and the other was a 24" 300WSM. I will see how they shoot this weekend.

Ford 5.0L V8 vs EcoBoost: High mileage experience?

Update: 2015 3.5 Eco 154" WB now at 162,000 miles. I had an exhaust leak at 156k and paid for upgraded BD Diesel exhaust manifolds with the extra mounting flange. I got new turbo coolant and oil lines in the process and the old ones looked great, no coking, could've used them again. Got a...

Day hunting out of the truck?

As a flatlander who has done multiple ski trips to the Colorado I70 resorts (9K and up), get there as early as possible to acclimate before you start hitting it hard. Your body needs time to adjust to altitude. Weeks are good, days are helpful. Altitude sickness sucks and can be dangerous...

    Truck Topper for camping

I have a 6.5’ F150 with a cab height canopy. I found mounts that fit the bed link attachment points that will accommodate 2x4s and fitted blocks and rails down the sides of the bed. This supports 3/4” plywood covered with outdoor carpeting. I use a camping pad and sleeping bag on the platform...

Amber vs Clear Truck LED Auxiliary Lights

Whatever you end up buying, don’t be a Toyota Chad and show everyone on the road how cool your lighting system is. You will get flashed, and hopefully cited, and deserve it.

Smart hunters want a wide FOV for the sudden appearance of game. How many times have you bounced something unexpectedly and closer than you planned?

Best sub $400 scope for browning x bolt in 30-06?

How do you plan on using it? Burris Fullfield is pretty solid in that price range. I have a few and wouldn't hesitate to buy more. Meopta is overlooked and their glass and construction is excellent.

New Tundra owners — Tow hooks?

I saw that when I was shopping for a Cummins 3.0. You have to spec it. Most Toyota drivers are looking to add really obvious accessories, anyway. My 2015 F150 XLT has tow hooks. It will turn 160k on this tank of gas....3.5 Ecoboost. I have never regretted dumping the 2006 Tacoma.
