I have had this issue with the half out inserts that come with them, but only when hitting something hard. I switched to ethics sleeve style insert/outsert and havnt had any trouble.
With Alaska airlines, firearms have to be picked up at an office and you have to show id and the bottom part of the paper you has to rip off when you checked your firearm.
They wont budge on this either. When me and my buddy arrived, it was taking them a long time to get luggage off the plane...
In my experience they do treat anything checked as a firearm differently. With Alaska Airlines anyways, after you check it as a firearm they load it separately and you pic it up in a different location and have to show id to receive it.
I see where my statement is confusing. I didn’t do a very good job explaining.
What i am saying is that now i am possibly flying with a recurve only instead of my rifle. If i check it with recurve only, it will be treated as a regular checked bag. If i slide my pistol in there with it then i...
Thanks guys. This kinda confirms my thoughts. I typically take a golf club case, put rifle in soft case inside gold club case. Then i pack other expensive and stuff that would be hard to replace at destination. They take it to a different area then rest of my bags and pick up at separate area...
A book!!
Went on a hunt few years ago and was weathered in tent for severals days with nothing to read or do.
I swore i would bring a book for the next trip. Ive packed that damn thing with me for the last several hunts and the weather had been good enough that i havnt read one single page...
When flying with Alaska airlines, has anyone ever had them lose luggage with a gun in it?
Ive flown with a gun several times and have never had my gun be lost or not on time. Seems like they take extra precautions with them obviously.
However i have heard of people not having their bows or...
I shoot a 50lb recurve with 575 finished arrow. 150 4 blade magnus stingers. Ive had complete pass through on all deer except 1 where i hit opposite shoulder.
Id just look for a broadhead that you can sharpen easily.
Perfect arrow flight and sharp broadheads are what really more than...
I was kinda wondering that by the look of the pictures. Ive never been around one so I appreciate your feedback on them. Ive actually been looking at the flambeua bazuka pro rod holder. I think it will do the job!! Thanks
I understand trust me. I actually bought a pma for that reason. However i have a one piece ptf that was the first real recurve i ever had and killed several deer with it. If i get a chance to kill a moose it would be pretty cool to do it with that one.
Whenever i would take a rifle on an airplane i would put my gun in a soft case and then put it inside a golf club case and pack cloths and other soft gear in around it. Figure this way im not paying a checked bag fee for rifle only.
Im thinking about this same concept with a one piece but...
No they do not! Thats why i have been checking into this. Last moose i killed they weighed the meat and were going to fly into the kill site to verify all meat was taken. Luckily i had taken pictures of the carcass after finishing and they said it looked good. Had me shittin my pants for a bit...
Thank you. I had not seen this definition before. This clears things up a bit more. The definition on the website and in pamphlet just says 50lbs at peak weight.
Yeah i think its a little different with a recurve. If you know your getting checked and your close on weight then your gonna be drawing it back until the broadhead digs into the riser.
