For food, depending on your hiking route you may be able to cash some along the way and return to it later in the trip if it works out logistically.

Looks pretty dang good. I’d add trekking poles to the list. Also, we’ve found that going with one spotter works for us, while we each have bino’s and tripods for most of our glassing time. Might consider that if you both have spotters on your lists.

A favorite is blue box Mac and cheese. Cook the noodles, dehydrate them, add some cheese sauce and milk powder and some dried sausage.
Also did eggs a different way this year - get a dehydrator that goes to 165deg and you can straight up dry mixed eggs on parchment paper. Came out great.
We...
We carry the single serve oil packets too, and add them after rehydrating the meal.
Another option that is good in some meals is coconut oil if you’re looking for some variety.

We’ve found that you need the freezer baggies for the food or they end up with holes due to the dry food while being thrown around all week or they fail with the hot water. I’d definitely use the freezer type. And you can buy a lot of them for $45 if you just use a sweater or jacket rather than...
Found that these work great and burn cleaner than triox or Vaseline cotton balls. And you don’t have to dig out your lighter every time.

Go for something that is “toilet friendly” or biodegradable. And dehydrate them - not sure why you’d carry more weight than you have to.

The only thing you may miss is having an igniter on the stove, but if you do go with a Soto one that has them and is still light. It doesn’t bug me because I always carry a lighter or two anyway. Otherwise I bet your jetboil will gather dust. The difference in time and fuel spent should be...
Not sure about the trail shot. But check out the sawyer mini filters. They’re half the cost, half the weight and work great.

Kimber Hunter in .280 Ack. Imp. with one piece Talley rings and Burris Fullfield E1 4.5-14 with level bubble. Got the stock bedded and the trigger lightened up. Got the rifle on gun broker for $740.
7lbs total unloaded. Hunted with a similar setup last year that I borrowed and it makes an...
Good points above, and I’d also say that you’ll probably want access for people to sit all around the stove when it’s really cold.
Also, make sure to put it in one of the panels away from the door.

Gotta start making your own [emoji1360]. Way better on your system, cheaper, and you get exactly what you want. We had blueberry chocolate angel food cake, pineapple upside down cake, peach cobbler and others for snacks on top of normal meals. All great for the fat kid us all and still super...
We used these last year. Super easy to strike and burned long enough to easily get a fire going in the stove. Didn’t have as bad a smell as our old Vaseline cotton balls either. You can probably get them on amazon too...
Anyone look into the newish spot X and compare it? Looks like it’s cheaper to buy and you get a bit more with the flex plans.
Two big questions I have:
- can you talk to an InReach directly from the Spot X? It’d be great if someone here has verified this first hand.
- does it use the good sat...
