Shortly after the Stryker came out I wrote to Kifaru and asked for them to consider adding side pockets to the design. I know I’m not the only one who requested this upgrade but it’s pretty cool to see a company respond to their customers requests. I will be buying the XL. Much more functional...
Exactly. Would have been nice if they provided the pockets or at least brought the bottom molle webbing all the way around the sides below where the main zipper ends.
A lot of people on here calling the sig cross a chassis gun. It’s not. It’s built around a one piece receiver that everything else it bolted to. I like how it carries over a lot of attributes from an AR15 (grip, safety, dust cover). I think sig did an excellent job designing this gun and I hope...
Bag is just about perfect. Just wished it had slip pockets on the sides near the bottom like most other Kifaru day pack models. (IE updated 22 mag). Other than that they nailed it with this pack.
I had a garmin 64st until I lost it while shed hunting. Ran to the store and bought the same model because I liked it that much. Having buttons over tough screen is a benefit in my opinion for an actual dedicated GPS unit.
I wouldn’t say it’s the best, but it’s simple and I never get lost.
I ran the outdoor research foray jacket in green this summer for work. Great color for hunting purposes and it comes with a lifetime no questions asked warranty. Pretty awesome deal when you think about how easy it is to tear up rain gear when busting through brush, crawling through cactus or...
I sold my R3 bag (pretty much identical to the original solo 3300) to buy the sky 5900 bag. I also run the xcurve frame. I love the sky 5900. This set up does everything I need from day hunts to about 3-5 nights.
Region 7 is a blast to hunt. I drew the rifle tag the last two years and killed a decent buck antelope both years. The first year I killed one on a BMA, the second year I got him on some state land with public access. If you’re willing to walk away from the roads then I think you will do...
Former Marine infantryman as well. I was with 2/7 all 5 of my years. Best advice I can give you right now is get out of SoCal, especially if you want to hunt or start a business as a knife maker. Take care Devil and good luck with your pursuits!
I wouldn't concern myself with what everyone else does. Besides, I have a hard time believing that. I also wouldn't over look the .410. It's still around for a reason. Check out the Rossi circuit judge in .410. Thats a pretty neat gun that would have some heirloom properties.
My first shotgun was a break action .410, then a Remington 870 youth 20 ga. If you are worried about recoil maybe you should consider starting him with a .410
I really like my triax and it was a fine bow to hunt with in the mountains of Montana this fall. It is kind of chunky but that was irrelevant when it was strapped to my stone glacier for hiking in and out or in my hand when stalking elk. I would rather carry an extra half pound of Mathews than...
