    Arrow Spine ?

Archer's Advantage also agrees that you could cut your arrows down and get "better" results. Here is a comparison for you. I guessed at the rear end of the arrow and put AAE max stealth vanes and no wrap, with an easton G nock.

    Tipi tent pole

z-packs makes carbon tent poles in a variety of sizes. I use a 48" one for my tarp as I don't have trekking poles. Elastic bound, pretty lightweight. Not sure what size you need but it may be another option.

Hanwag Makra Combi GTX size 10.5

For sale are a pair of Hanwag Makras, size 10.5. I thought they'd fit me but they ended up being too small. Wore them for a day hike before I decided to go larger, no signs of abuse. $250 to your door.

    Online Ammo retailer

When I was buying ammo I found myself using www.targetsportsusa.com pretty much all the time. They will ship cases (not individual boxes) with free shipping. On other sites, I often found that the shipping costs erased the savings I was getting from buying online. Ammoseek, listed above, is...

    Lightweight Gear List

As much as I would love to cut more weight, I don't think I'll ever be without a capCAP lid again. It is so convenient that I'll pay the few oz in weight for the nalgene. Thanks for the tip though, I certainly clicked those links with some madness in my eyes.

    Lightweight Gear List

Lighter Pack is a fantastic tool, thanks a lot for that tip. I went ahead and put all of my gear into it, minus game bags and a contractor bag. I figured it would be helpful to compare to what I consider to be my bare essentials for late September in Colorado (obviously not an exact...

Budget Pack for First Time Elk Hunter

The advice about trying to find a used, higher end pack (or at least frame) is solid. I used a USMC ILBE 2 from ebay on my first hunt. It's an arcteryx designed pack made by some 3rd party, and designed for something around 120 pounds of load. These can be picked up in various conditions for...

DIY Dehydrated Meal Recipes / And other food ideas

I did mac and cheese for one meal last year and I am definitely making more this year. I cooked the pasta out of boxes of store bought mac and cheese meals and then dehydrated the pasta. I would pour the cheese powder, dehydrated butter, and dehydrated milk into a vacuum bag with the dried...

Backcountry Bivy Elk Hunting Gear List....

The pen has a battery bar with four or five bars to show the charge. It took me a weekend of camping to lose one bar, which was about 15 liters of water. I got the USB steripen so that I could use a solar panel to charge it, then saw how long it lasted and never pack the panel. I take...
