The internals on many of the carters are the same (springs, gates and sears). Dirt or grime can get in there or you could have a broken spring. You can usually take them apart and see if a spring is broken or has come out of place and give it a good cleaning while you are in there. WHATEVER...
I was very surprised when I went out west and saw some of the places mule deer lived. We still hunt in thicker forests in New England and that is where we are comfortable. When we were out West we hunted in some country like that with very little to show for it. When we started hunting more...
To the OP.s original question. I notice the decline of content happens at this time every year. Some of the channels are filming hunts now and they hold their content back at this time of year...by the end of October a lot of your favorite channels will be releasing videos every day though.

Congrats on drawing one of the 6 NR tags given out!!! I have never hunted A2 but it is one of the best zones in the state. Are you doing DIY or guided.
Congrats on drawing the tag!!! You will be receiving lots of brochures from outfitters in the next 2 weeks. I have never hunted Zone 6. The moose will still be in the rut and bulls will be responsive to calling then.
