I just bought a STS 65HD and the Gavia i used at a shooting competition was not that good. For my eyes viewing was not pleasant, not as clear or bright.
I have no idea why i thought the were shooting sticks 🤣, but got a set of trekking poles mainly for this reason , it will be quicker than setting up a tripod to shoot.
I did not really ask if it was the HD, at that price i thought no way it is. Thank you , got my tripod today and hopefully it suits me , i am 6foot7 but could only find a tripod that is 6foot5, but then again i prefer to sit down and glass.

If he wants Euro glass this is what i would look at.... Big fan of Zeiss in rifle scopes and use V8 and V6.

Althought it's straight not angled but will make it work and use a higher tripod that extends to 200cm.

You can go to Asia and hunt Kazakhstan for $16k to $20k USD for Maral and Ibex and can add siberian roe deer for another fee...
