The good folks at Peax and Rokslide have provided me with a Solace 15 bag to review.

Received the bag today, so a just a few casual observations. I put it on my scales (two different scales) and get 2 lbs 5 oz for the weight (the...
Yeah I do all that, also change the MT fluid and plugs, but @ 30k (oil at 5k probably overkill too as it's syn)—I think I'll skip plugs next time they always look good.
I've got a new serpentine belt, but haven't gotten around to changing it- looks like more of pita than other trucks.
The SO Merlin is pretty small and only weighs 12 oz. Spectra fabric so you get basically a waterproof pack as well.

Yeah definitely in the same niche- decent sized daypack with an internal frame, but can also be attached to a hauler frame.
At some point I'll probably get my hands on one and can compare/contrast the two.

I haven't tried one out, but have handled one in their store. The Kiowa has more external organization and more volume overall. The Kiowa has a more substantial belt and iirc, the shoulder strap are a little more heavily padded as well. Larger volume too.
The Tokeen is lighter with the more...
If you have a ballot initiative (like a lot of states have) in regards to wildlife, I'd want as many as those folks in the middle that I could muster on my (our) side
Not this year definitely, but possibly a year maybe two (2025/26). We're going to be doing a fair bit of traveling in the relatively near future, just the peace of mind with a new vehicle over one that will be 13-14 years old.
40+ years ago I was a sawyer in Northwest Montana, did this for 4-5 years (paying for college). Carrying a chainsaw up and down mountains everyday whips you into pretty good shape. When hunting season rolled around, elk/deer hunting wasn't very hard—well except for packing quarters out on...
