Another synthetic pant to look into is the surplus ECWS level 7 pants. I’m buying my second pair for $50 off FB marketplace tomorrow, and it includes side zips.
The top is no slouch either, and has been my go to trapping, predator hunting, and ice fishing jacket this year.
Ben do you think a fella with a dremmel and a can do attitude could mill out the receiver for a lefty action?
Can the foldy stock be switched to fold to the right instead of left?
I know you’re asking for the biological reason(s), but as others have stated - there aren’t any.
The ugly truth is that the anti-hunting orgs are much better funded. Additionally, as much as they tout the science™️ their boards are interestingly devoid of biologists, but chalk full of attorneys.
Form, what’s the “go-to” parallax adjustment for this scope?
For example, I remember you mentioned 300 or 500 was set and forget parallax for the SWFA. I can’t remember cause I turned it there and taped it lol.
I first tried carnivore in 2018 and it was the leanest I’ve been in my entire life. I used to hang out in body-building circles at the time, and I’ll never forget a friend asking me if I was prepping for a show. I worked an active job and was in the gym regularly and couldn’t keep fat on my body...
I have two pair of xtratuffs that I’ve purchased within the last year that are still as waterproof as the day I bought them, including when moose hunting around Fairbanks. Long-term reliability is yet to be seen, though. I’m sure they’ll be fine for your hunt.
Anyway you go, I would recommend...
I'm going with 43gr. 43.5 gr is a sloppy group primarily because it took me several rounds to get on paper.
Additionally, I think I may have had some ejector swipes on the brass on the 43.5gr group. I'll probably post a few photos here soon to get some other opinions to verify.
Finally got a decent day to get out and shoot. I was greatly overthinking how I’d know which load was best, but the groups told me everything.
Up to this point I’ve reloaded and shot 37 rounds total (read ever). 7 to get on paper and the remaining 30 grouping three different loads.
My go-to...
I'm not Form and he probably has more days in one, but I have an ECWS puffy top that I picked up used and, for the price, am extremely happy with it. I've used it for stationary activities down to -20 (with significant layering) this year with no issues, not including wind chill from snow...
I could never get a call back from that FFL in Tok, unfortunately.
They took all firearms, suppressors, and taxidermy - a HUGE load off my shoulders and worth every single penny.
On an active hunt it’s usually my insulation. If I’m moving, I’m generally wearing just a base layer and get sweaty almost immediately.
My insulation is what makes or breaks my ability to dry out, stick it out on that glassing knob, sit on an animal awaiting a shot, and hunt as long as I...
I’d love to see how guys are carrying pistols with these chest rigs.
The one reason I got away from a chest-rig style bino harness is because I could not comfortably/quickly carry nor draw a pistol from my kenai chest holster under one.
The only way that system is functional, for me, is a...
