    PA TTH so much fun!

If you have been on the fence about doing one of these events, its time to jump off. What a great event! The competitors, the volunteers, and the host location were all great! I have been trying to figure out how to get to a couple more next year, and hopefully nationals, if I can qualify again.

do any of yall do alot of road biking for training ?

I bike a bunch as well. Built up a new road bike earlier this year. The benefit will depend on how hard you ride. do a search on youtube for GCN tons of training, and general cycling info.

    Mountain Bike

This is great advice. All brands that a bike shop carries will do the job. Just stay away from the big box stores, just like would for buying a bow. Also, please get yourself a helmet. I have broken 3 in the last year. They have save me a good bit of damage.

    Mountain Bike

I spend a lot of time on a mountain bike(6-15 hours a week depending on training plan). I have been racing them for 6 years, and ride 5-8k miles a year. I get asked this question a bunch by friends looking to get into the sport. My normal response is to just pick up a 29er hardtail in your price...

    North Carolina TTH Challenge Update

Sounds like it's going to be a great day. I'll be in trad. I'm in the car now headed down to NC. We ended up just extending our vacation since the event was canceled. So, I'll be on Carolina beach with a 50# sandbag, doing my workouts for the next week. Can't wait to get in some warm weather.

Backpack training - how much weight?

I use the GoRuck plates as well. I have a #20, and a #30 between the frame, and my bag. works great, plus I can still put jackets, and water in th pack easy.

I found a video on youtube that broke down distances. If i remember correctly max for trad would be around 45. I am shooting trad as well, and that was what I could find. I will try to find it again.

What should I look for in a bag?

I have an eberlestock bag for my long range rifle, that i have used in some matches. it does not have a frame, and can't imagine dropping 100lbs in it. with my rifle, bags, ammo, and rest of my gear it is probably getting close to 60lbs. Thats about enough in that bag for me. Thank you for the...
